Onitsuka Tiger and Varley to add to Knightsbridge retail mix

Japanese fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger and contemporary athleisure and activewear brand Varley have both signed leases with The Knightsbridge Estate to open new stores on London’s Brompton Road.
Onitsuka Tiger will open a 3,996 sq ft store at 39-41 Brompton Road in December 2026, while Varley will open a 3,965 sq ft store at 77 Brompton Road in spring 2027.
The Onitsuka Tiger store will add to its other London locations at 14-18 Neal Street in Covent Garden, which opened in May 2025, as well as its flagship store 249-251 Regent Street.
The new Varley store will also be its third standalone location in London, with its other stores at 110-112 King’s Road in Chelsea, which opened in August 2023, and its store at 104 Marylebone High Street.
Founded by husband-and-wife duo Lara and Ben Mead in 2014, Varley is headquartered between Los Angeles and London and counts Harrods, Selfridges, Anthropologie, Net-a-Porter, Harvey Nichols, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom as stockists. It also operates 10 standalone stores in the US, including three in New York.
Ben Mead, co-founder & CEO of Varley, said: “London has always been an important market for Varley, and we’re delighted to be opening our third UK store on Brompton Road. With its distinctive mix of fashion, lifestyle, and retail destinations, the area feels like a natural fit for us. This opening marks another exciting milestone in our UK growth, and we look forward to welcoming more customers to the brand.”
Onitsuka Tiger and Varley joining the retail mix between Harrods and Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge will follow other new Brompton Road fashion additions this year. Dutch luxury fashion and lifestyle house Aurélien opened its first UK flagship at 59 Brompton Road in July, spanning 3,228 sq ft, while footwear retailer Office followed in August, opening a 4,385 sq ft store at 73 Brompton Road.
Sarah Waller, on behalf of The Knightsbridge Estate, commented: “Retailers are becoming increasingly selective about where they invest, prioritising high quality space in destinations with an established customer base and a complementary mix of brands.
“The recent openings of Aurélien and Office, alongside new lettings to Onitsuka Tiger and Varley, underline the confidence brands have in Brompton Road. At The Knightsbridge Estate, we are responding to that demand by building a balanced mix of premium fashion, footwear and lifestyle brands that feels accessible yet aspirational. That breadth gives people more reasons to visit Brompton Road and is central to the long-term proposition.”
