The upcoming generation of the Hyundai Creta has been spotted testing once again, with the latest spy shots offering a glimpse of what appears to be an entry-level variant. The test mule was seen in the Gurugram region of the National Capital Region (NCR), sporting steel wheels, suggesting that Hyundai is evaluating different versions of the SUV ahead of its anticipated launch.

Unlike the higher-spec test mules spotted earlier, this particular vehicle features 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, wrapped in 205/65 R16 tyres. While the exterior remains heavily camouflaged, the wheel and tyre combination indicates that this could be one of the lower trims in the upcoming Creta range.

The next-generation Hyundai Creta is expected to make its debut in the first half of 2027. One of the major changes could be the adoption of the K3 platform, which also underpins the latest Kia Seltos. The new architecture is expected to bring improvements in overall dimensions, with a longer and wider body potentially translating into better cabin space.

In terms of styling, the upcoming Creta is likely to receive a substantial design overhaul. Early expectations point towards a more upright and boxier appearance, with a redesigned LED lighting signature. The styling could draw inspiration from Hyundai’s newer global SUV design language, including elements seen on the latest Tucson.

The cabin is also expected to receive significant updates, potentially featuring a redesigned dashboard and Hyundai’s Pleos Connect infotainment system. Other anticipated equipment includes ventilated and powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless and wired charging facilities, and Level 2 ADAS. However, Hyundai has not officially confirmed the specifications or equipment list.

Under the bonnet, the next-generation Creta is expected to retain familiar engine options, potentially including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. These could be paired with multiple transmission options, depending on the variant.

A strong hybrid powertrain could also join the lineup, although its introduction and specifications remain unconfirmed. With the next-generation model still undergoing testing, more details about its design, features and mechanical package are likely to emerge closer to its launch.

The Creta remains an important model in Hyundai India’s portfolio, and the upcoming generation will need to build on its established position in the midsize SUV segment while facing competition from newer rivals, including the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder.
